Supplier Fuel Mix Update 2021 – The Big 6

Fancy Mixing Up Your Fuel Supply?

Suppliers use different combinations of fuels to make up the energy they supply to our homes and businesses. Combining a range of fuels (coal, gas, nuclear, renewable) in different percentages make up a supplier’s fuel mix.

By law, suppliers have to disclose this information along with the environmental impact (CO2 emissions) that occur from their choices. You can find this on a supplier’s website.

Think how food companies disclose how much sugar, salt etc is in their products. As a consumer you use that to make an informed decision about whether you buy the product. The same is true for deciding which energy supplier you use.

Suppliers who mostly use renewable or nuclear power are consider greener than those who rely on fossil fuels.
